Máire Clancy/ Bean Mhic Fhlannchadha (née Ni Cillín) (1882-1962). Born in Limerick City and a student at Coláiste na Mumhan, she met George Clancy in Ballingeary and they married in 1915. She was a teacher and founder member of Cumann na mBan.
She was present when her husband was murdered at their home in Limerick on 6th March 1921 and was wounded in the arm.
